Full-Service Interior Design

Our project process is the same, whether you’re a commercial or hospitality client. We believe that great design is just as important as the steps along the way, and I created our process so that my team and I can deliver bespoke designs that have a distinct connection to the space. Our approach is clear, concise, and holistic.

We follow the same comprehensive steps for all of our projects unless our clients choose to a-la-carte any one of our services to fit their needs. We can do as well, but our expertise is delivering full start to turn-key installed renovation projects.

+ 01: Initial Client Consultation

We are more than happy to meet with you for a collaborative client and designer interview. I find this meeting to be one of the most important, because it lets us know if we have a connection. I find out more about your expectations and vision– mutually discovering if your project is the right fit for each of us.

This meeting is complimentary for local clients who would like to meet with us to review the above and get a deeper sense of how we work. If you decide that you would prefer a working appointment, where you can ask us tons of questions and pick our Designer brains, then that would be a full Design consultation to be agreed upon before we come out. We work with a vast amount of clients who are out of state or out of the country. So in these instances, this step would be to either set up an out of state/country consultation or we would ask you to email us all of the relevant project information for review.

+ 02: The Proposal

We then take the information from our consultation to establish a flat design fee based on the scope of work and present you with a design proposal outlining our services and fee. At this time we will also mutually agree to a ballpark budget before proceeding with the design work.

+ 03: Documentation of the Space or Spaces

Upon receiving a signed letter of agreement and retainer from you, we will then schedule a time to come measure and photograph the space (unless you have access to working plans for the site), as well as document any items that are relevant to the project. This is also a great time to go deeper into what you envision for the project. Depending on the location and details of the project, this can be done in person, or via online or on a call.

+ 04: Schematic Design

This is where the holistic comes into play, because I believe in presenting everything at our presentation meeting needed for you to get a cohesive picture of not only what the finished project will look like and feel like, but also what it will cost. We take all of the information that we collected thus far and create drawing, plans, elevations, renderings, material selections, and a working budget, pulling together all of the intricacies of your project – be it architectural finishes, color schemes, millwork details, fabrics or decorative furnishings – and fine-tune all of the curated components of the design concept. Included in this phase is the presentation of all of our exciting finds and designs! We review the budget, note any changes or re-selections that might be needed and wrap up our meeting with a very clear and concise interiors package.

+ 05: Design Development, Purchasing, and Project Management

Depending on the needs of your project, we offer three different services that ensure that your project runs smoothly and that the details are taken care of.

Design Development: we take all of the drawings and selections and fine tune the details for the trades, such as metal and wood finishes, millwork details, and the list goes on.

Purchasing: Now that all your items are agreed upon a deposit is issued and we place, manage and track orders on your behalf. During this phase we prepare purchase orders, check and double-check order information for accuracy, review acknowledgements, confirm lead times and expedite freight delivery. Once your items reach a local warehouse they are received, inspected and catalogued until we schedule your delivery and installation.

Project Management: It takes a lot to get from A to Z, and renovation projects, whether big or small require some hand holding along the way. We offer our clients our experience at managing the different details, coordinating the different fabricators and trades, as well as addressing any of the questions, changes, or challenges that will need our expert advice at solving. It’s what we do best, so why not use us!

+ 06: Install Day

This is an amazing, prized moment for us as we deliver the return on your investment and the value of our design services! For our commercial clients this can happen in layers that we coordinate ahead of time to dovetail with the operations team. For our residential clients, this usually happens within a day or two and will be a flurry of deliveries, installations, and styling. We ask when possible for our homeowners to not be present, so that we can work our magic and deliver the big reveal that you always dreamed about!

+ 07: Professional Photography

This is where we schedule our professional photographer to visually capture our completed works. We find that most of our clients love that we are photographing their space as there is either the potential of having their home featured in a shelter magazine or design blog post and the images are shown on our website. We also gift a copy of the images to you to keep as a memento!
